Mini Game

Well, this task should have been easy for us because the majority of us had done this for three years straight.For me, this task or project was easy in different sections of it.For example, the first four steps were too easy for me, but when it got to steps five, six, seven, and eight, you had to do a lot of coding and look at the instructions in the mini game, so that way you can understand what you are doing in the new version of Flash.At first, I really had trouble putting the codes in because I noticed that my codes that were right, were not working because maybe I didn't make an object into a symbol or maybe I forgot to put an instance name, but when I got help from other people, I began to understand them because I made a little mistake.The best part of making something in Flash, is that you can be creative and make things do what you didn't do the past two years because we have the newest version.Well, I think that it may sound weird, but I also like to work with the codes.I know that it sounds like weird because so many people have trouble with it.I only like putting it because I think that it makes you better at putting codes in and then you get used to putting them.What I don't like about creating the Mini Game, well, referring back to what I said about me liking to put codes in, I also don't like to put them.One reason is because it takes a lot of time to be correcting it.The second reason is that, you get frustrated with it.Well, I in many situations, get frustrated and even get mad because I know what the mistakes are and that I'm just mad because I'm tired of looking back and forth what the problem is and rarely don't know what is the problem.In my opinion, that is really not an excuse because you can ask help for a friend or teacher and we also have a resource we can use and that is the Wiki Tips or maybe Making a Mini Game, so we all have the help we need.Also, I wan to say that Flash is not really a hard thing to use, I think that people make it and feel like it is boring.

How old were you on September 11, 2001?
Well,I was 3 years old when I still didn't go to school and didn't about the tragedy that had happened to out twin towers.

When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the events to you?

Well, the first time that I knew was by my mom that had told me more about because at that time,I was looking at the news and they had mentioned something about "The Towers that Collapsed."I didn't really know about that,until I asked my mom about it.She said that it was a tragedy that happened about the twin towers that were destroyed my some terrorists.

What kind of impact did these attacks have on your life or your parents lives?

My parents didn't really get involved with the tragedy that happened,but they did know that there were millions of people that were involved and they ended up dying.I think that it was sad what had happened to all those innocent people that didn't do anything to those people that like to destroy.

What was the issue with this game?

The issue was that the game was about the 9/11 tragedy and that they made a game that was about it.Many people didn't like it because, there were many people that died because maybe they were inside or outside, maybe they were family members.This game that they made or idea,I didn't like it because it keeps on repeating what happened 10 years ago.

How do you feel about it?
I don't like the idea because there were many lives that were in there, and they think that it is okay to make a game about it that has been happened in real life?I mean,it's really not funny,fun,or with laughter, it was a big deal.Imagine you in the towers or even outside the towers?

What is the problem with portraying on such an awful violent event through a video game?
I think that it is bad because lots and lots and lots of people did die outside or inside the twin towers and making it a video game is really not fun because,they are just making that video for money?I just think that they don't have any respect or at least feel sad because those people were millions, even kids.I just think that it's not good for them to create a game that did happen in real life.

How can you make sure that your web games tell the whole story or teach a lesson in an honorable way?

I think that I can make an appropriate game by just making it in a trivia game.

"Danger of a Single Story"
What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community?
To have a single story about a place or community I think it is when they hear about you or see maybe in the news or some place else, is when they say about things about you that maybe they aren't true.

Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?Well, I know a friend that told my mom that she is not sending her child to our school because she said that the school is good, but that the community is not good.Well, one of the mistakes that she did, was that she was not sure about the school and she doesn't know very much of the East side and I say that it is better for her to to see what it's like to be in the East Side.

Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community?I haven't really heard any more of a single story.

How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community?

Well,since I have heard people say about the east side, I think that making a game about the community will help them understand the community better because maybe the game will let you know facts about this side.Then it might change your mind of letting any children go to this school and see that this school is probably one of the bests schools that there has been,for me,but they can see it by themselves by having teachers that care of the students education and success.

2 Cyberbully 2011

Well, this story or video was about a girl named Taylor.At first, she had a good time with her friends and family.She also had a good life like she had good grades at school and she also wanted to become a journalist for her career.Then the problems came when her mother got her a new laptop where she can chat with her friends.Then at the second day of school, she realized that she liked a boy named Scott that attended to Mountain High School.Well,when she had gotten back from school, her picture with Samantha, her best friend, had a comment.Of course,it was a mean comment from the mean girl named Lindsey and her other mean friends.The other day at school, she basically had a good time, but things changed when she got back from school.Like always, she checked her Clicksters page and then realized that her whole page was full with mean comments.After all of that, she showed the comments to her mom, which she thought that those comments were already mean and some nasty ones.She was full of sadness like she was already feeling like when someone is depressed.The next day at school, all of the people in the school made fun of her.After all of the mean comments, she came home and realized that her brother was the one who figured out her password and wrote a fake post about her and now people are believing it.Sure Taylor was more angry and sad because her brother not only got the people to make fun of her, but Taylor also didn't trust him like she usually did.Over the next days, she has been getting weird and cruel messages of someone named Evans.Well, the problem is that she made a huge mistake of writing that unknown person back.Samantha was in her laptop as always and she got a message from Taylor.The message was the one that she wrote about Evans.Now you can realize that Samantha,her very own best friend had betrayed her.Now the nest day at school, her friend Shayne stopped being her friend because since she is hanging out with her, people have been calling all of the three nasty names, and that's what made her stop being her friend because nobody has ever called her that.Since Taylor was feeling even more depressed her whole identity changed, like she didn't dress nicely like always,her hair messed up, the way she has been acting with her "friend" Samantha,and the way she has been acting with her own mom.With more comments on her Clicksters page, she thought of something she thinks she should do,kill herself.Before she thought of that, she saw a new video that Lindsey and someone else put, a cruel one full of making fun of her.The video was about how she was pregnant with a boy that Lindsey and her friends put.Then after seeing that cruel video, she didn't know what to do she was like lost and lonely in the world.Well, she had put a video of her talking about herself and when she was finished, she ended up saying,"Bye."When Samantha saw the video, the first thing that she thought was that she was going to kill herself.Samantha immediately called her mom and told her what she was about to do.Then when she was informed, she brought the ambulance.Samantha arrived and looked for her in her room.She found her opening some pills,so she can kill herself.There was a lot of screaming and Taylor's brother heard the noises and right then, Taylor's mom comes by to stop her from killing herself.When she finally couldn't any longer,she was in pain and calmed herself.She was taken to the hospital where she could get some rest.Taylor's mom asked Samantha who was that Evans guy.Since she knew that she was the one who created that person,she didn't tell her and then walked away.The doctors gave Taylor's mom tips about how she can help her and one was attending to a class where they can talk about how they were cyberbullied.Well, know Samantha went to a store and found Scott.Scott asked about Taylor,but Samantha thought that he just wanted to play with her.Yet,Scott confessed that he really did like Taylor.Samantha was feeling pretty down and also depressed for betraying Taylor.She had made the decision to tell Taylor.When Samantha came to Taylor's home,she confessed everything to her.Of course,Taylor did feel betrayed and by her very own best friend.Taylor went with her mom to a specialist about cyberbulling.Taylor's mom gave the specialist her mom's phone number.Yet,Taylor thought that it was a bad idea because she thought that Samantha wasn't going to come.Samantha did came and told everything about it.Taylor was surprised because she did came.After the next day,Taylor was feeling pretty confident of her going to school.When she arrived,she saw Samantha on the window by the cafeteria.She has been also hiding from everyone else because now they know that Samantha was the one that created the Evans guy.The both stood for each other and came in to the cafeteria.They were both strong responding to Lindsey's mean comments.Not only them both, but Scott and the ones that are being cyberbullied too.Lindsey was defeated and there were no more bullies on the school and everyone lived happy with no one being bullied.

What is a cyberbully?
A cyberbully can be anyone that is being mean to you on the Internet.

What are the different types of cyberbullying?
The different types of cyberbullying are gossip bullies that says mean things to you and spread rumors about you,exclude,or a bully that threatens you.

What should you do if you are being cyberbullied?
You should tell to a trusted adult.

What are some reasons that people cyberbully others?
Maybe because other people have bullied them before and then they might think that bullying others might make them feel better.They also want to have power,so maybe they can get their respect.They can also be jealous by you for having a good time or a good life.

The name of our game is Look Up At The Animals.



What is it about?What scenes have you completed?
Our game is about saving the species that are being endangered by many harmful things such as pollution.We have completed all scenes that are in our game and that includes all 4 levels.



What parts of your team page are completed?
All of the parts in our team page are completed and one of those are the resource page,the Primary Game Scene,the Secondary Scene,the Final Scene,and the Additional Scene where you have your losing and winning scene.



How much more work do you need to complete?
We don't really have more work to complete because all of our scenes are completed,so that means that we have all 4 levels have been finished.



What can you do from now until Friday to get everything finished and turned in?
Well,what we can do to accomplish those 2 goals is that,we can check in the Game Gallery again to see if all 4 levels are finished.When we have checked that everything is in its place,we can just tell the teacher that we are finished and that we are ready to get started for what other people think about our game.


What grade would you give yourself in Gloabloria overall?
In my opinion,I would give myself an 100 because I've worked diligently for this team to get it where it belongs.We have done many things that are hard to do,well not hard anymore because we learned many stuff,but we as a group have worked diligently.

What are all of the things that you have learned in Gloabloria?
I've learned many stuff in Globaloria this year that I didn't learn in 6th grade.I've learned how to work the codes out and how to make them work.I've learned about to make the code work,you need to put the object an instance name and many many other stuff.

What are you proud of in Globaloria?
The things that I am proud of in Globaloria is that,I've finally learned how to work the codes out,I know how to use or treat the computer properly,and most of all,I've learned how to put our game together.Since last year in 6th grade,we didn't actually had the opportunity to put it together,now I know that putting a game together is pretty easy!

How can you improve next year?
Next year I think is going to be more cool because our game is going to have a better game concept or meaning the genre and social issue.Also,we our team next year,are going to improve by making the game more real like when you play real games in the computer.Actually that's the thing that I have been thinking about,thinking that,how is next year going to be like?

http://www.icivics.org/ The site teaches us about the government on how they get people to the United States even though they want to come here for no reason.I played this game and it teaches me that the person should have a good reason to enter the United States and if they want to just enter to hang our and do bad stuff,they are not allowed to enter.It teaches about the government and how they run for it as candidates.I also played this game that you have to ask this question to candidates and they have to have a good response,so that way they get elected.I learned that a lot of things that I didn't even learn before about government like how to be U.S citizens,how to elect the right person that you think will make a good candidate,and how to make the right decisions.I also liked the fact that in the game,you can make your own question,well not necessarily make your question,you can just ask the question that is provided for you.I also liked the game that is about a fairy and the people that want to become U.S citizens,then they should or have a good reason to become one.I really liked the iCivics because it teaches me a lot of things that I didn't even know about the government like for example what are the requirements to become a U.S citizen and also how to elect the right candidate for election day.
